
Offer work experience for summer 2022!
You have until 24 May to sign up as a work placement provider and support a young person with getting that all important, real life experience. Sign up by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
It costs us around £200 to organise each placement, so please consider donating the cost of your placement to Arts Emergency if you are able to. Please email our Fundraising Manager, Lucy.
What placements are you looking for?
In all types of creative and cultural organisations. We are especially looking for placements in fashion, TV/ film, music, theatre and games.
Where can the placements be?
You can offer an online placement anywhere in the UK. On-site placements should be in Manchester, Merseyside, Brighton and London only.
Who can offer work experience?
Freelancers, sole-traders and organisations can offer online placements. Only organisations with an office can offer on-site placements.
How long does it run for?
Work experience runs for five working days. If you want to support a young person for longer than five days, they must be paid at the Living Wage for your area.

For on-site work experience we’ll ask you to:
sign and adhere to our code of conduct
provide a five day placement in London, Brighton, Manchester or Merseyside
provide expenses if the placement is for five working days. We ask that anything longer is paid at national or London living wage
fill out a short risk assessment including information on Covid-19 guidelines
send us your Employer’s Liability Insurance certificate (you will need to find this before you fill in the form)
have an informal interview with the young person
For online work experience we’ll ask you to:
sign and adhere to our code of conduct
read our online safety guidance
provide a five day placement
have an informal interview with the young person

Work experience guidance pack: Contains all the information you might need for running work experience.

Organisation code of conduct: You must read and agree to this code before you offer us a work placement.

On-site risk assessment template: A template for you to fill out and send to us if you are running an on-site or a hybrid placement.
Online risk assessment template: A template for you to fill out and send to us if you are running an online work experience placement.
I’m a mentor and can find my mentee work experience!
If you are a mentor and can find work experience for your mentee through your own networks, that’s great! We will need the organisation’s risk assessment, Employers Liability Insurance certificate and they will need to adhere to our code of conduct. Please return the forms to us before the placement goes ahead.
