The Bursar Club is a group of very special people who make a regular donation of £1-5k every year, sponsoring places for underrepresented young people in our Mentoring Programme and Young Community. It’s a generous, generative and rewarding thing to do.
We’re a truly independent organisation with no major core funder. To support our vision - a future where young people face no closed doors to the cultural industries - we’ve set ourselves a goal of finding 50 new Bursars to support Arts Emergency’s 2026 cohort. Can you join us, and send a ladder back down so a young person can take their next steps into their chosen future?
You’ll be joining an incredible group of peers including Joe Lycett, Nish Kumar, Lolly Adefope, David Nicholls and Rob Delaney amongst many others, helping to build a new, alternative infrastructure. Throughout each year, you’ll get updates on mentee cohorts, as each year progresses - a constant, and much-needed dose of positivity, and reminder of the power of community.

£1,000
Join the Bursar Club for £1,000 per year, or £83 per month, and make an ongoing commitment to help young people to access the real-world connections, opportunities and practical support that they need.

An update from mentee Eddie:
"The conversations I had with people working in the charity sector were invaluable and I’ve since gone on to get a job in community fundraising. I’m also really excited to share that i’ve been selected for the Bush Theatre’s Emerging Writers Group. I’m very passionate about what Arts Emergency do and hope I can stay in touch and help in the future however I can!"
£2400
At £2,400 per year or £200 per month, you’re making a serious contribution to our long-term mission: creating an alternative ‘Old Boys’ network’ that’s changing culture for the better.

Merseyside mentee on their audition to Oxford University:
"Had my Oxford Uni audition last week. Had a horrible time with weird and wacky interviews and I thought I bombed the audition. But, a day later got an offer to read Music with an organ scholarship!!! Thank you so much to you, Arts Emergency and my mentor for giving me the confidence and support throughout the process!"
£4,800
£4,800 per year or £400 per month has a huge impact: at this level, you’re donating the equivalent of sponsoring three whole mentee places. That’s three young people being supported to realise their ambitions all year, every single year.
