Art Is Joy Zine

Arts Emergency's Youth Collective release their latest creative endeavour: the Art Is Joy zine.

Earlier this year the Youth Collective invited members of the Young Community to contribute to a zine with artistic responses to their 12-point manifesto. The result is a beautiful and vibrant publication which features illustration, photography and poetry and highlights the diverse voices and artistic talents of the Community.

In addition to the zine, the Youth Collective hosted an online panel discussion, Taking Up Space, featuring guest speakers including literary agent Silé Edwards, screenwriter Jonathan Wakeham, curator and creative Korantema Anyimadu, and journalist and author Yomi Adegoke. During the event the speakers shared their insights on how young people can assert their presence and influence within creative industries, fostering a dynamic and inclusive cultural landscape. You can watch a recording of the panel discussion below.

At the heart of all these initiatives is our unwavering commitment to ensure that the youth voice remains central to everything Arts Emergency does. We believe in empowering young people to express themselves, shape their futures, and contribute meaningfully to the culture they live in.
