Arts Emergency

Urmee Khan

I grew up in a very working class household, my parents came from rural Bangladesh in the 60s and found it absurd that I wanted to be a journalist. It was only thanks to scholarships and bursaries that I could train to be a journalist. As a journalist on national newspapers, I am alarmed by how few ethnic minority and comprehensive school educated journalists there are. I think the Arts Emergency fund is a great initiative and I would like to help.
