Arts Emergency

Anna Llewellyn

Documentary Director

I’m a freelance director and producer, making documentaries for British TV. I was very unsure about what I wanted to do when I left university where I’d been happily studying history, completely oblivious to the fact I might need to get a job one day. All I was sure about was that I didn’t want to get a ‘proper’ job, in a suit, in a big corporate machine. I did some work experience at the BBC and realised that what I’d really loved about history was the stories, and documentary making was a way to keep telling stories about real people. I’m still doing it ten years later.

I’d be happy to help more storytellers – the world will always need them!
