I make games for a living. Mainly videogames, but not entirely. I started out making my own games, as an independent developer, while also working in a technical/programmery role, and then moved to a start-up making games on a work-for-hire basis. After a few years there, I have recently left to join a team working on a indie game. We have arts funding to pay for development for the next year. I still make games outside of that, by myself and in collaboration with others. I also help run Wild Rumpus, a party that shows interesting multiplayer games to the public.
I’m helping out Arts Emergency because I think that making games is a good thing. I want it to be something that anyone can do (if they want to). And I want the culture of games to expand.
